Mabel C. Mace, 75, of 423 N. Edmonson St., Indianapolis, died Sunday in the Ben Hur Nursing Home. She taught school in New Albany for 43 years and received the Distinguished Service Award from the Indiana State Teachers Association. She was a member of the Englewood Christian Church and the White Cross Guild. Born July 19, 1901, she was a daughter of Walter A. and Mattie Gray Mace of Scottsburg. Survivors are two brothers, H. G. of Middleton, Tex., and E. W. of Lafayette; and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Grebe of Albuquerque, N.M., and Mrs. Mary C. Kemp of Indianapolis. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Collins & Vest Funeral Home at Scottsburg with the Rev. John Lee officiating. Burial will be in Scottsburg Cemetery. There will be no calling at the funeral home. – jlr
